Barring any last-minute change of mind, Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is set to reappoint Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado back to his position as the Executive Chairman, Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission (PCACC).

According to information obtained by SAHELIAN TIMES, the suspended chairman and the government delegation were scheduled to meet over the weekend, following which he would publicly declare his defection to the ruling party.

According to reports, the action was a part of the party’s plan for reuniting all of its defectors before the general election in 2023.

A source close to the suspended chairman said, “Yes, they have reached out to Muhuyi, and he is now making consultations before his meeting with the government delegation.”

Rimin Gado, was suspended in July 2021 from office by the State House of Assembly for “rejecting an accountant sent to him by the state’s Accountant General.

Though he applied for the reversal of his suspension at the National Industrial Court in Abuja, he has not been recalled since.

Before his suspension, Magaji had complained of interference and intimidation from officials of the state.

The suspended chairman was in April 2022 arrested by Police at the Sokoto Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, where he was being screened by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a governorship aspirant.
