Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has launched a campaign for his son Engr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, popularly known as Abba Danlele, as INEC declared the campaign season for 2023 open.

Ganduje was spotted in a video clip sighted by SAHELIAN TIMES addressing a gathering in the constituency, where he outlined his son’s qualities despite being a newcomer in the game.

The governor has reportedly scaled down his involvement in his party’s presidential campaign because he was allegedly not satisfied with not so prominent role given to him.

Abba is billed to take over from Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, an influential politician currently serving the Dawakin Tofa, Rimingado and Tofa Federal constituency for the fourth term.

Jobe parted ways with Ganduje two years ago after discovering the governor’s plan to annoit his son in the forthcoming election.

He decamped to the opposition NNPP where he got another ticket to contest his position for the fifth time.
