The 14th Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II has arrived in Kano.

Three years after he was deposed as Emir, the Leader of the Tijjaniyya Order in Nigeria arrived at the Aminu Kano International Airport for the first time and is currently at his mother’s residence which is located along the Ibrahim Dabo Road.

In video footages obtained by Sahelian Times, the monarch was seen exchanging pleasantries with different delegations of family members, traditional title holders and other people.

Sanusi II is reportedly making a stop in Kano before proceeding to Dutse in Jigawa State, where he is expected to pay a condolence visit to the Emirate Council over the recent death of its Emir, Late Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi, and to congratulate the New Emir of Dutse, Hameem Nuhu Sanusi.

After his deposition on March 9, 2020, on allegations of insubordination, the former Emir was “banished” by the Governor of Kano, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to Awe in Nasarrawa State, an action that Federal High Court in Abuja declared as illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional.
