At least 8 people have lost their lives confirmed while several others sustained various degrees of injuries followed their involvement in a ghastly motor accident in Garko local Government Area of Kano.
Akibu Hamisu, a resident of Garko, told Sahelian Times that, the accident occurred when a motorcycle rider tried to overtake Toyota Sharon vehicle coming from Garko Town on its way to Kano.
The driver lost control, causing the vehicle to swerve and somersaulted.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, Mustapha Gambo Muhd, the Kano State Public Enlightenment Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC (FRSC) Kano Command, Kabiru Ibrahim Daura, said preliminary information revealed that the accident involved 2 Vehicles a Sharon and a Bus, noting that a total of 20 people were involved in the crash.
He further explained that the Road Traffic Investigation Team of the agency has been deployed to the scene to carry out proper investigation on the causes of the accident.
He said so far the death toll rose to 11 from initial 8 that died on the spot.
