Omicron: Saudi Arabia joins countries banning Nigerians

The Kingdom Saudi Arabia has joined the list of countries banning Nigerians from gaining entry into the country due to the Omicron variant that was sequenced in South Africa.

This was contained in a circular sighted by Sahelian Times, which says “based on decision and directive of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian Government that temporarily suspended Nigerians entry into the Kingdom.”

“We are pleased to inform you that Saudia Flight SV400/8DEC Will operate Farry without carry any passengers except Saudi Nationals.

Please kindly inform all our valued Saudi Arabia pax on today flight SV400/8DEC not to go the airport for the aims of traveling on today flight till we received further directives.

Saudi Arabia regret any inconveniences this might caused.”

Many African countries have been banned from gaining entry to European countries over the Omicron variant and Nigeria has called it a ‘racist move.”
