In a move to accommodate the new alliance with Senator Malam Ibrahim Shekarau and other high profile defectors into the party, the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, has endorsed a former governor of Kano State Ibrahim Shekarau for the Kano Central ticket; a former executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, Abdullahi Baffa will fly the party’s ticket for Kano North and; former presidential adviser on National Assembly Kawu Sumaila got the party’s ticket for Kano South.
A list of consensus candidates for various candidates in Kano sighted by this paper indicates that recent defectors such as Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe and Shehu Na’Allah Kura have been endorsed for the House of Representatives seats in their respective constituencies.
Meanwhile, Abba Kabir Yusuf and Aminu Abdussalam have emerged as the consensus Kano governorship and deputy governorship candidates of the NNPP, for the 2023 election.
