Adamawa bans use of tricycles, motorcycles in Yola, Girei

Adamawa state police command have banned the use motorcycles and tricycles in Girei Local Government, Yola north and south.

The announcement which is signed by the police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the state Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, has ordered the Divisional police officers and their supervising Area Commanders in the three Local government areas affected to carry out full enforcement of the banned on the use of Tricycles and Motorcycles in Girei,Yola North and South within the hours of 10pm to 5 am daily” said DSP Suleiman

The order which is cited as “Adamawa State Restriction of Movement of Tricycles/Motorcycles Executive Order no.1of 2021” comes into effect on Tuesday 2nd February, 2021 signed into law by His Excellency, Governor of the state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on 2nd February, 2021.

The Commissioner also tasked the Divisional police officers and their supervising Area Commanders in the three Local government areas affected to ensure full compliance with the Regulations in their respective Areas of Responsibilities (AoR) and cautions officers to operate within the context of the law and respect rights of citizens while enforcing
The CP gave the order to ensure full enforcement of the Regulations and general restriction while noting that the non compliance will continue posing threat to the Peace and Security in the state and the Citizens

He calls on citizens to voluntarily comply with the provisions of the Regulations for the safety of all he also further cautions officers enforcing the Regulations to show tact, compassion and empathy with the citizens.

CP Aliyu Adamu Alhaji also reiterates that the officers must be firm and professional and at the same time remain polite, civil and respect the fundamental rights of the citizens.
