*Abduct army officers two children
There were reports of heavy gunfire at low cost housing estate in Kofar Gayan, Zaria late Friday night following attacks by bandits.
Residents reported a fierce shootout involving vigilance members who made spirited efforts to repel the invading gunmen.
Further checks revealed that the heavily armed bandits also launched an attack on the House of Major Aliyu Zubairu, close to Saye Zaria and eventually whisked away two of his children.
The abducted children were identified as Abdulrahman Aliyu Zubairu and Abubakar Aliyu Zubairu.
In the same vein, residents of Shika/Mil Goma, in the vicinity of the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) also reported heavy gunfire in the area, also on Friday night. A woman and her two children were reportedly whisked away
Recently, bandits and kidnappers have laid seige to Zaria, an important commercial and university city in Kaduna State, killing some people and abducting many others even as they have left behind a trail of destruction of valuable property.
