Bauchi State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Aliyu Tilde, has resigned from the State Executive Council.

Tilde, on his verified Facebook page, stated that he has forwarded a letter of resignation to Governor Bala Mohammed, requesting permission to attend to a call from a colleague who urgently required his services.

Tilde is the fifth top official to resign from the state’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government in the last three months.

Alhaji Abubakar Kari, former Chief of Staff of the Bauchi Government House, Alhaji Nura Manu Soro, Special Adviser on Political Matters Alhaji Shitu Zaki, and Hon. Mohammed Al-Hassan Sadiq, Commissioner for Commerce and Industries, all resigned.

Tilde was appointed Commissioner in 2019 and retained his position even after a cabinet reshuffling about a year ago.
