Aminu Wali-led faction of the Kano state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his supporters from the party.

The decision was taken by newly elected leaders of the faction, who accused Kwankwaso of hijacking PDP leadership, and disloyalty.

In a statement signed by the group’s leader, Muhimmina B. Lamido, he accused Kwankwaso of forcing Honourable Ali Datti Yako to leave the party.

He also accused Kwankwaso of other offences, including “Indiscipline, insubordination, and disrespect to party elders in the state.”

Kwankwaso was further blamed for violating the constitution of the party by disrespecting and State Executive Committee of the party.

Recently, the national PDP has supervised a party congress in Kano, where Kwankwasiya (a group loyal to Kwankwaso) won all the elective party positions in the state. This has pushed the aggrieved Wali’s group to organise a parallel congress, albeit unrecognised, to elect separate leadership
