The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee, Mai Mala Buni, has declared February 26 as the date for the APC convention.
Buni, who is also the governor of Yobe State, disclosed this on Tuesday at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja during the national progressive women conference 2022.
He stated that the party is counting on women’s support to hold a successful convention.
Buni’s announcement comes less than 48 hours after APC governors met behind closed doors at Abuja’s Kebbi Governors Lodge.
The governors deliberated on the party’s contentious national convention and insisted on holding the APC’s planned February convention.
At the end of the closed-door meeting, the forum’s chairman, Kebbi State Governor Abubakar Bagudu, told journalists that the caretaker committee of the party would announce the convention date.
The governors also gave the party’s caretaker committee, led by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, their support.
