In a twist of event, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recognised Senator Ahmad Lawan as the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC’s) for for the Yobe North Senatorial District.
The name of the Senate President, who did not participate in the primaries, was submitted to INEC by the ruling party, along with the names of other senatorial candidates from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Bashir Machina, was earlier annouced as the winner of the party’ district and he vowed not to step down for the Senate President.
