APC to hold congresses on May 7-9 for delegates

All Progressives Congress (APC) will hold congresses to select delegates who will vote at the state and national levels between Saturday, May 7 and Monday, May 9,

The party’s national organising secretary, Suleiman Arugungu, released a schedule of activities with this information.

These ad hoc delegates will be in charge of selecting the party’s governorship candidates in each state as well as the presidential torch-bearer.

Presidential candidates are expected to pay N100 million for expressions of interest and nomination forms, while governorship candidates will pay N50 million.

The price of forms for persons seeking to contest for seats in state houses of assembly was pegged at N2 million, while that of the house of representatives is N10 million and the senate is N20 million.

The party set May 10 as the deadline for submitting completed forms.

The ruling party also stated that candidates for the state houses of assembly and governorship will be screened on May 12, candidates for the house of representatives and senate will be screened on May 13, and candidates for the party’s presidential ticket will be screened on May 14.

The governorship, state houses of assembly, house of representatives, and senate primaries are scheduled for May 18, 20, 22, and 24, respectively.

The presidential primaries will be held at a special convention from May 30 to June 1.
