Appeal court in Kano has ordered the retrial of the judgment against Aminu Shariff, who was sentenced to death by hanging for blasphemy, last year.
Justice Nasir Saminu, who issued the order, said there were errors during the trial and the accused didn’t present his lawyers.
A Shari’a court in the state had sentenced Shariff to death after finding him guilty of blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
