Members of an armed gang, suspected to be assassins, have on Monday morning invaded Kurna community and killed one Idris Salisu Goma, in Kano metropolis.

Goma worked with a fertilizer company in Ungoggo Local Government of Kano state.

Sahelian Times gathered that the gang met Abubakar in the midst of a prayer and attacked him with machetes.

A source said that, “We tried to rush him to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, but he had lost so much blood. He gave up before we reach the hospital.”

He also added that, “In the past few days, the armed gang has been frequently terrorising the local community.”

It’s not immediately clear what was the motive of the attack. However, a source that confided in Sahelian Times suspected that it could be a handiwork of hired assassins or an armed robbery by local urchins.

At the time of writing this report, the Kano State Police Command spokesman did not respond to calls from our reporter.

Kano is battling with criminal activities of local urchins called Yandaba. Reported cases of people being robbed of their belongings at a knife point have increased recently.
