The Nigerian Army troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed four Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) members after repelling an attack in Izge Community, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno, Borno State.

The terrorists attacked the town in a multiple wave on Friday at about 8:30 pm in a convoy of heavy armed fighters in gun trucks.

Sources say that the troops and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) stationed in the town engaged the terrorists in a fierce fight that lasted 20 minutes, resulting in the death of four terrorists.

According to the sources, the soldiers and the CJTF overpowered the criminals, striking them hard and leaving scores of them in a pool of blood, causing the terrorists to flee in disarray.

“Four of the terrorists were sent to their Creator to face the full wrath of their inhumane as many others fled with varying degrees of injuries,” said Lukman Usman, a local hunter said.

The Gallant troop, along with the CJTF and the Hunters, is still on the trail of the fleeing terrorists, while weapons have been recovered.

Usman said “Izge people are known for their spiritual warfare power in fighting Boko Haram/ISWAP. We no longer run for any body. Infact we have a separate cell where we keep captured Boko Haram fighters. They know that they will never succeed if they attack us.
