Kano State Government has fixed a date for the keenly anticipated dialogue or debate between Malam AbdulJabbar Kabara, scion of Sheikh Nasiru Kabara, and Kano clerics over his contentious mode of preaching.

The commissioner in charge of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Tahar Adamu Baba impossible, confirmed this news to SAHELIAN TIMES.

He said that he “has just delivered the letter of invitation to the debate to Malam AbdulJabbar.”

A Source close to the government said that the debate will come up on 7th March 2021. However, details are still sketchy.

It will be recalled that the government had banned AbdulJabbar from preaching due to complaint received from the clerics across Izala, Tijjaniya and Qadiriya sects.

However, AbdulJabbar has demanded, as a matter of justice, for public debate with his accusers to support his position- which government has now granted.
