Bauchi state Governor, Bala Muhammad, has defended his claim against Fulani who have taken up arms for self-defense.
In a statement signed by his Personal Assistant, Mukhtar Gidado, Bala Muhammad claimed that Fulani herdsmen are taking arms for self-defense because Government from all part of the country failed to protect them.
In a statement he made last week, Bala Muhammad also accused Benue state Governor, Samuel Orton, for painting a bad image for the Fulani.
The Governor said his words will be used to divert people’s thinking who see Fulani as terrorists.
“its not proper to tag any ethnic group as terrorists because of the action of few of them, they should not be generalized” sai Bala Muhammad
Bala Muhammad said he realized that his statement fueled war of words among Nigerians but he’s firmly on his claim.
He said there are law abiding Fulanis who are suffering from attacks from different people and they didn’t deserve the treatment they’re experiencing in all parts of the country.
