Bandits abduct Juma’at mosque Imam, 10 others in fresh Sokoto attack

In a fresh attack, bandits kidnapped Chief Imam of a juma’at and 10 others in Gatawa village, Sabon Birni Local Government Area, Sokoto State.

According to Daily Trust, the incident happened on Friday when the Imam was preparing to lead Juma’at congregational prayer

On Friday, the Imam and three other people were kidnapped.

On Saturday, the attackers also blocked the Sabon Birni-Gatawa road, shot three people, and kidnapped seven more.

Sa’idu Ibrahim, a state assembly member representing Sabon Birni South constituency, confirmed the attack and said the injured were being treated at a hospital in Wamakko.

Another woman who was shot in Dama village, he said, had her leg amputated because it couldn’t be repaired, the paper reports.
