Bandits killed 17 persons and abducted 22 others in communities along Kaduna- Abuja highway barely 24 hours after the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba’s visit.
A source disclosed that the bandits stormed the communities in large numbers while dressed in army uniforms, infiltrated some houses, and abducted 22 residents, including five women across Kagarko and Kachia Local Government Areas.
According to the source the bandits operated in the community for over an hour.
He said they only had to start shooting into the air to scare people away when they were leaving the community.
However, one of the 22 kidnapped victims reportedly escaped from his captors while being led into the bush.
