At least 17 people were killed on Thursday by gunmen in Duskuru village, Dandume local government area, of Katsina state.
The police spokesperson for Katsina command, SP Isa Gambo, told newsmen that 17 people were killed by the bandits who raised Duskuru village.
Gambo further asserted that more security personnel have been deployed to fish out the criminals, while assuring the public that criminals would face the wrath of the law when they are eventually apprehended by the police.
It’s not immediately clear what was the motive of the attack, but over the past few years, Katsina state has been bedevilled by recurrent banditry and cattle rustling. These unchecked criminal activities have resulted into deaths, loss of properties, and internal displacement.
