Bandits kill newly elected councillor in Katsina

Bandits have assassinated a newly elected councillor and kidnapped his wife in Katsina State, just eight days after the election.

Alhaji Nasiru Magaji, the deceased, was assassinated in the early hours of Wednesday in Gozaki, Kafur Local Government Area, the state.

Magaji was shot in his home and taken to Malumfashi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In another incident, bandits stormed Dutsen Reme low cost in Funtua Local Government and allegedly killed one Buhari Amadu (aka Buhari Michael), a member of Bakori Local Government Council who operated as a vigilante.

The incident occurred at about 11:00 pm on Tuesday.

They also attacked Malumfashi’s Dan Rimi neighborhood, the headquarters of the Malumfashi local government, where two wives of a filling station manager were allegedly kidnapped.
