Bandits storm Kagara again, kill 4, abduct 25

Reports from Niger state revealed that bandits have once again attacked Kagara district, killed four people, abducted 25 others and rustled unspecified number of cows.

The news is coming few hours after the return of the abductees of the Government Science College, Kagara who were kidnapped week ago.

It was learnt that the attacks were in Madaka, Karaku, Sambuga and Yakila villages which are all in Kagara district.

According to a report, the bandits abducted seven women including two nursing mothers in Gidan Wamban Karaku while in Madaka, they kidnapped the Imam of Rubo village.

It was learnt that in Karuku, four people were also killed during the operation and they have since been buried.

Niger state is currently facing serious security challenges especially kidnapping for ransom and banditry.

President Muhammad Buhari said his government will not grant amnesty to gunmen and called on states government to reconsider their approach in fighting insecurity in their respective states.
