Bayern Munich sign Mane from Liverpool

German Bundesliga side, Bayern Munich, have completed the signing of Mane from Liverpool. The club took to their official media platforms to disclose the news.

Mane had been a top target for Bayern for a few months and he was always open to the move to Germany. The Senegalese International joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2016. He went on to help them get their first Premier league title in 35 years and also win the Champions league in 2019.

Liverpool are set receive €32m from Bayern for Mane after turning down a few bids from the Germans. The 30 year old has signed a contract with the Bundesliga side, valid until 2025.

“This is the right time for this challenge,” said Mane. “I’m very happy to finally be with FC Bayern in Munich.”

The Senegalese has featured in 269 games for the Merseyside club, scoring 120 times and assisting 38.

Fc Bayern’s president, Herbert Hainer, believes Mane’s move to the Bundesliga will make the league more attractive.
“Sadio Mane is a world star who underscores the appeal of FC Bayern and increases the attractiveness of the entire Bundesliga. It is for such unique footballers that fans come to stadiums,” said Herbert Hainer.
