Boko Haram: Military neutralize attacks, apprehend explosive-making device.

Troops of operation fire ball unit, successfully repelled and neutralized Boko Haram terrorists attack.

During the encounter, the troop also apprehended improvised explosive-making device and recovered arms and live ammunitions.

According to a statement by Ag Director Defence Media Operations, of the Nigerian army, Brigadier General Benard Onyeuko on Saturday, troops of operation fireball recorded more successes in its aerial campaign against boko haram insurgents in the North East.

The DMO explained that, the troops – special response area Miyanti, “acting on credible intelligence, embarked on an aggressive fighting patrol, to clear the boko haram insurgents in their hideout in the general area of Ladantar Village.”

Adding, “the gallant troops engaged the insurgents with superior fire power, forcing them to withdraw in disarray.”

However, reports show that, the troops gave hot pursuit to inflict heavy casualties on the fleeing terrorists.

In the aftermath of the decisive encounter, two boko haram/ISWAP terrorists were neutralized and one improvised explosive device expert was captured.

Other equipments captured include one box of service tools, one gas cylinder for dx,ß suspected to be for making IED.

The DMO commends the troops of the operation fireball, “ for their resilience, gallantry and professionalism exhibited, during the successful operation.”

He equally encouraged them “never to rest on their oars, but build on the successes recorded so far.”

He was further quoted saying, “The entire people of the north east region, are hereby assured of the Nigerian military high command’s resolve to rid the geopolitical zone, of remnants of BHT/ISWAP.”
