Reports from Koya village in Minjibir Local Government Area revealed that eight people have lost their lives as a result of cholera outbreak while 20 more are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
In an interview with SAHELIAN TIMES, Haruna Muhammad, the village head, said he informed the authorities about the situation but nothing has been done yet.
He said, “I informed the Head District and Local Government Chairman about the outbreak but none of them have come to our rescue yet.”
He added that, “As I was leaving the hospital, three more people died and there is still no response from the authorities.”
According to him, the outbreak started at around 3am on Saturday and the number of casualties are increasing every minute.
