Armed men suspected to be kidnappers, are reported to have carried out attacks on Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria.
Reports said that, the attackers shot 1 lecturer, and kidnapped his two sons, and another person.
The Armed men conducted the operation on Saturday.
The lecturer attacked was identified as Head of Department, school of Computer Engineering, Engineer Bello Atiku.
Another lecturer, Engineer Abdullahi, narrowly escaped being kidnapped, but with some gun wounds from same armed men.
Engineer Abdullahi has since been rushed to hospital.
Rector of the school, Engineer Kabir Abdullahi, who confimed the incident explained, “the bandit gained entry to the school around 9pm on Saturday.
The rector blames the sad incident on the porous nature of the school campus, making the community vulnerable to such dangers.
According to him, despite vast land and abundant forest on which the Polytechnic is located, it’s unfenced, imploring the state government to look into the possibility of taking measures to beef up security around the college.
He then appeals to the college community to be calm, assuring that security operatives drafted, are on top of the situation.
