Breaking: Court grants bail to Mahdi Shehu

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted the foremost Katsina State Government critic, Mahdi Shehu, bail on Monday.

The presiding judge, Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo, ordered that the bail is granted to Mahdi with sum of two million naira and one surety.

He added that the surety shall be a resident of Abuja, and the applicant must present a document that shows his resident address to the Registar of the court.

Zainab Marshall, in an Interview with SAHELIAN TIMES said that, the bail condition has already been meet as they await to see if the police command will respect the court order.

Alhaji Mahdi Shehu, the Kaduna State-based businessman and whistleblower of Katsina State Government’s alleged corrupt practices, who was arrested on February 16 by the police in Kaduna before he was later transferred to zone 3 police station, Abuja where he was detained.
