The Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed the resumption date of International umrah to be November 1st, 2020.
All eligible countries will be informed about the decision by the Ministry.
It could be recalled that the Saudi authority had suspended international pilgrimages during the peak of COVID-19 pandemic. This latest development is seen as a sign that the current pandemic situation in Saudi has improved, and the country’s containment measures have resulted into bending the epidemic curve.
There are still fears of experiencing the second wave of the pandemic, which experts opined that it would be facilitated by international travels, similar to the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918.
