Passengers in Abuja airport are protesting over the unannounced cancellation of their flight from Abuja to Kano by Azman Air, Sahelian times can confirm.

The flight was billed to depart Abuja to Kano at exactly 4pm, but was rescheduled to 7:30 pm and later the total cancellation was announced. This angered the passengers who protested and vowed that they would not allow any Azman flight to operate from Abuja this evening.

As of the time we are preparing this report no official of the airline, the airport authority or Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) was at place to take care of the situation.

Among the affected people are international flights passengers transiting from Abuja to Kano.

An aviation expert who commented about the incident said that the regulations are clear, “when flights are cancelled, the airline must provide alternative arrangements to the passengers.”

“The arrangements include taking the passengers to hotels and rebooking them on a subsequent flight,” he added.
