The police are currently shooting in the air in a move to prevent violence from escalating at Bukur Local Government Council of Plateau State.
Residents told BBC that security have arrived at the venue and dispersed the parties involved in the unrest.
Police public relation officer of the Plateau state command Uba Gabriel, did not confirm the report when contacted but promises that they will investigate the incident.
The clash erupted between Hausa community and other tribes after each party accused its counterpart for killing.
