President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock and sadness at the death of his “friend and ally”, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President said, “the country has lost a man of conviction, a resolute and dogged believer in a better Nigeria.”

“He will be sorely missed. This is a massive fish gone out of the media ocean.”

Sam Nda Isaiah died in the late hours of yesterday, at the age of 58. Until his death, he was the publisher of the Leadership newspapers. He started his career as a pharmacist after graduating from Obafemi Awolowo University, and later became a renowned columnist with Daily Trust. He was also one time a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
