Barring any last minute change of mind, the member representing Daura/Sandamu/Maiadua Federal Constituency, Fatuhu Muhammad is set to join the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).

The lawmaker has not yet publicly announced his next move, however, SAHELIAN TIMES has reliably gathered that he is at the final stage of joining the PDP.

According to our source, he was courted by both the PDP and NNPP, who are the two main opposition parties in his state, Katsina, but he has finalized on joining the PDP as it offers him a better political prospect.

However, the source has not confirmed if an automatic ticket for the seat he currently occupies is part of his deal with the PDP.

Muhammad, who is President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew and was frustrated by losing the All Progressive Congress’ (APC) primaries dumped the ruling party.

In a letter addressed to the APC chairman of Sarkin Yara ‘A’ Ward, Daura, the lawmaker did not state his reason for leaving the party, but he thanked the APC for giving him the opportunity to serve his people.

“This is to notify you that I have resigned my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC) with immediate effect commencing from Wednesday the 13th day of July, 2022. Attached herewith is my Party Membership Registration slip with slip No.KT/DRA/10/00002.”

“While I thank you and the Party for the opportunity given to me to serve the interest of the people of Daura/ Sandamu/ Mai ‘Adua Federal Constituency while working with the party, accept my best wishes please”, Hon Fatihu wrote.

Muhammad had previously confirmed to newsmen that he is in serious talks with other political parties after he lost the APC primary.

“Yes, I am in serious talks with PDP, and I am in serious talks with NNPP. They are all looking for me; they know what it means to have me if the APC doesn’t know my value. I will soon make a decision.”
