The Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies has called on the Kano State Government to take immediate action regarding a fire outbreak that burnt down the Institution’s main auditorium, last Saturday.

The College’s Provost, Professor Balarabe Abubakar Jakada, made the call at a press conference after the incident, saying that the auditorium is the only edifice the college is proud of and they do not receive any construction support from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), and so they are asking for help from the state government to reconstruct the building.

Professor Jakada added that they have formed a seven-man committee to investigate the cause of the fire, which it will report within ten days for appropriate measures.

Sahelian Times recalls that the College’s auditorium was recently razed down in the inferno, and it had the capacity to accommodate five hundred people.
