The Kano State Hisba Board rescued a 13-year-old girl who had been allegedly trafficked from Lagos.

Fatima Aliyu was allegedly trafficked from Lagos to work as a maid in a house in Unguwa Uku by a man who brought her with the agreement that she would be paid monthly.

A video circulating on social media shows the girl pleading with people who know her or her parents to please assist in reuniting her with them.

Musa Ishaq, the board officer in charge of the command’s Intelligence, Criminality, and Dispatch (ICD) unit, stated that an investigation had been launched into the case.

He mentioned that they were hopeful that they would soon be able to track down the house she was working in as well as the trafficker.

He said “Upon investigation, we realised that she wasn’t kidnapped, but rather trafficked by someone who we are yet to identify. But we have launched an investigation into the issue and very soon we shall get all the details.”

According to the girl her father is a fisherman in Lagos, somewhere in Agege. She does not have her parents’ phone numbers, and she attends Lagos’s Albahar School.
