President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the primary concern of his administration remained ensuring a better future for Nigerians.

President Buhari stated this on Thursday when he celebrated the Children’s Day with Nigerian children at the State House, Abuja.

According to the president’s Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu, the president made “a solemn promise to bequeath a better country for the present and future generations.”

As part of the activities to commemorate Children’s Day, observed on May 27, the President hosted a group of Nigerian children at the State House.

Shehu disclosed that the children were taken on a guided tour of the president’s office, meeting rooms, banquet hall and the zoo at the Presidential Villa.

The children also participated in the cutting of a ‘national cake’, during the celebration, he said.

Buhari, who described children as “precious blessings who should be nurtured to carry the burden of the society in the future”, spent “memorable time with his august visitors”, said his media aide, noting that Mr President signed off the exciting ceremony with a farewell salute, “Bye-bye; see you next year!”
