Students of Abubakar Rimi College of Education,  have blocked the Zaria Road, to protest the sudden closure of all schools in the state by the government.

The apparently agitated students are against the announcement made yesterday that all schools should shut down immediately blocked the road this afternoon to register their dismay with the decision.

Kano State Government didn’t provide an explanation for its action, creating room for speculations.

Sahelian Times had, however, exclusively reported that the closure of the schools has a strong link with a red alert issued by security agencies in the country about impending threat by Boko Haram.

The dreaded terror group had recently abducted hundreds of boarding students in Katsina state, and several days after the abduction the students are still in captivity.
