A Kano Magistrate Court has directed the state’s Police Command to investigate a case of defamation of character complaint filed against another critic of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The complaint according to a court document received by SAHELAIN TIMES was filed by one businessman identified as Bello Kano.

Bello claimed that in February 2022, while listening to one of Kano state’s popular political programs aired by a radio station, he heard Gentile mention his company’s name and portrayed him as corrupt.

According to Bello, Gentile in the program alleged that his company was purposefully established as a vehicle to commit money laundering crimes and divert revenue from the Kano State Government.

“The said audio clip had been widely circulated by the suspect on several social media platforms,” said the lawyer of the businessman.

According to him, “in a brazen attempt to assassinate the character, the goodwill, good name, reputation, and image of our client, which he built for several years in his businesses all over the globe.”

Bello asserts that the allegation is malicious and unfounded, and he seeks redress as a result.
