A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has reaffirmed Muhammad Sani Abacha as the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) in the state.

Jaafar Sani Bello had previously filed a case challenging Muhammad Sani Abacha’s status as a legally recognized member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Abacha, according to Bello, did not follow the procedure for registering his membership at the Local Government and Ward levels.

In his judgement via Zoom,  Justice A.M Liman, on Wednesday disagreed with Jafar Sani Bello, upheld  that there was a waiver from the National level of PDP, stating  that the respondent submitted the waiver to the court as exhibit.

The presiding Judge also said the National leaders of PDP gave waiver to every candidate intended to register with the party and allowed to contest accordingly.

He maintained that the particular waiver covered Muhammad Abacha to contest any position in (PDP).

He also said the court agreed with the respondent’s submission that he was screened by National leaders of the party.

The court accordingly, dismissed the case of Jaafar Sani  Bello  and affirmed that Muhammad Sani Abacha is legally member of PDP.
