A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has on Monday, sacked 20 members of the Cross River State House of Assembly who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
The presiding Judge, Justice Taiwo Taiwo, ruled that the lawmakers should vacate their seats because they had abandoned the political party that had brought them to power.
The judgment came as a result of a suit filed by the PDP with the case number FHC/ABJ/CS/975/2021.
