A High Court in Makurdi, Benue State, has issue an injunction restraining Senator Iyorchia Ayu from parading himself as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In an order of interim injunction, Justice W. I. Kpochi granted the application for ex-parte order restraining Mr. Ayu from acting as the chairman of PDP.

Mr. Ayu’s membership of PDP was reported to have been suspended, on grounds of anti-party activoties, by the executive council of his ward, Igyorov Ward, on Sunday.

The plaintiff in the suit Terhide Utaan, said having being suspended from the party, “it is wrong for him to keep up with the office of national chairman and further disunite the party.”

Ayu has been at the center of the crisis that rocked PDP following its presidential primaries that produced Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the candidate of the party.
