The gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in Kano State, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, has said that Governor Ganduje remains his father and he will never backstab him.

Yakasai, who served as an aide to the governor for six years but was sacked for criticising the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, told, newsmen in Kano, Wednesday, that although so many people find solace in backstabbing Ganduje he will never be a party to do that.

“Although I’m the gubernatorial candidate of the PRP in Kano, this does not mean I will go the extra mile to do away with my bosom relationship with Ganduje, whom I see as my father and who treats me as such,” he said.

Insisting that politics does not mean stupidity and he being the gubernatorial candidate of the PRP does not gives him any unwarranted chance to backstab his former boss.

Yakasai who was sacked and suspended from the government of Ganduje for attacking the Buhari administration said he has no regrets about criticising the Buhari government.

“But now that things are improving on security, are we not commending the President, I think my position on being critical of national discourse remains, and I have no regrets criticising Buhari’s government when I did so”.

Speaking on the challenge of his party standing against the two leading parties of APC and NNPP in Kano, Yakasai, reminded that since the formation of PRP in the second republic, the party still remains a household name in Kano, and he has no fears.

“Nigerians are today tired of the APC and PDP and this electoral law has made it difficult for any party to rig elections so my chances of becoming the next governor of Kano State is as bright as the sun,” Yakasai added.
