A court sitting in Kano has ordered Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to pay the total sum of N800,00 to Daily Nigeria and its publisher, Jafar Jafar, for wasting their time.

This verdict followed an application filed by Ganduje to discontinue a civil case filed against the duo for publishing series of videos showing the former stuffing bundles of dollars in his “babbarriga” pocket, which were alleged to be kickbacks received from contractors.

SAHELIAN TIMES reported how Ganduje has applied to withdraw the suit he filed against Daily Nigerian publisher, Jaafar Jaafar, over the publication that exposed the governor collecting a bribe.

Jaafar is currently on exile in the England as a result of threat to his life following the release of those videos. He has promised to return only if his safety would be guaranteed.

Details shortly.
