DSS operatives descend on journalists in Kano destroy gadgets

The Department of State Services (DSS), on Tuesday, descended and seized a phone belonging to a Guarantee Radio Journalist, Usman Hamza Usman in Kano.

A source told SAHELIAN TIMES that DSS operatives confiscated the phone following Hamza’s bid to interview people on the recent ongoing tricycle operators strike in Kano.

According to the source. the incident occurred in Bompai Road adjacent to A. A. Rano filling station.

“He was conducting interviews when DSS operatives descended on him, beat him, and confiscated his phone and ID card.”

When contacted by our reporter, the Radio Station’s management said that they would respond as soon as possible.

The paper also learned that the journalist had returned to his workplace at the same of writing this report.
