The Kaduna Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned the Deputy Bursar of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Ilyasu Abdulrauf Bello, before Justice Darius Khobo of the State High Court in the state on Tuesday over alleged fraudulent practices.
Ilayasu, who is also the Acting Chairman of the university’s chapter of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), was charged with receiving gratification in excess of six million naira.
He allegedly used his position to siphon money from the Association’s welfare account.
According to the EFCC investigation, several unauthorized withdrawals were made without the knowledge of other members of the association.
