El-Rufai dismisses 18 varsity staff for participating in NLC strike

Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai has dismissed 18 staff from Kaduna State University for participating in the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) industrial action.

This was disclosed in a letter with reference number GH/KD/S/39 sent to the management of the university sighted by SAHELIAN TIMES.

In the letter he disclosed that, “His Excellency may wish to notify the Management of the University identified 16 Academic Staffs and 2 Non- Academic staffs that participated fully in Nigerian Labaour Congress (NLC) and affiliated organizations illegal strike action in Kaduna State in pictures through the electronic social media.”

El-Rufai noted that the list of the staff has been sent to the Head of Civil Service through duly completed variation forms.

The dismissed staff are from various departments in the university. Some of the affected ones were identified as Peter Adamu of Economics department, Peter Waziri Maitala and Jihad Abdullahi Ismail of Computer Science department, and Alhassan Kabiru Usman of Biochemistry department, among others.
