Exclusive: Concerns growing in Kano over disappearance of serving commissioner’s son

There’s palpable concern among the family of Kano State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Zahrau Muhammad Umar following the disappearance of her 24-year old son, Abdulrahman.

Abdulrahman has been missing since 14 days ago, and it’s not yet established if it’s a case of abduction.

SAHELIAN TIMES has reliably gathered that security operatives in the state had since been alerted and they working round the clock for a breakthrough.

A family source who spoke with our reporter confirmed that no one has contacted the family over any possible abduction for ransom.

The number of reported missing people is increasing across state.

A former Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly recently revealed that he paid the sum of N40 million to secure the release of his mother, Hajiya Zaniba Danja, who was kidnapped at gunpoint.

A school owner was arrested on Saturday in the state for kidnapping and murdering his 5-year-old student, Haneefa Abubakar, a case that reverberated across the country, with even the presidency expressing shock and sympathy.
