The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), on Tuesday, suspended the operations of Azman Air nationwide, for not following safety guidelines as the set by the Authority.

SAHELIAN TIMES gathered that, on Monday, an Azman Air flight ZQ2318 a B737-300 with registration marking 5N-YSM took off from Kaduna and landed in Lagos airport at around 1:38pm.

While taxiing to its arrival gate, the officials of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) observed that one of the tyres appeared deflated.

A source told our reporter that one of the FAAN officials radioed the control tower about their observation and the control tower drew the attention of the pilot to it.

“Professionally, the pilot was expected to report incidents like that, but he failed to do that.

“Several tyre debris were later removed from the runway following the report,” the source said.

Investigation by SAHELIAN TIMES also showed that, on February 16th this year, Azman Air flight ZQ2325 a B737-500 with registration number 5N-SYS from Abuja to Lagos landed with a burst tyre causing temporary closure of Lagos airport.

Irked by the unprofessional conduct of Azman Air, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) suspended the operations of Azman Air flights with immediate effect.

Azman air has, on several times, been on the news for customer dissatisfaction and flight delays.
