Farmer, couple abducted in Oyo

Gunmen have abducted a farmer and a couple who were also into a farming business in Oluyole Local Government Area, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The trio were kidnapped at two different locations within the council.

It could be recalled that about four people, including two bankers, were kidnapped on the Ijebu-Ode/Ibadan Road a few days ago.

Sources said the couple were abducted from their farm located at Alabameji Village, Sanyo area, while another man who is also a farmer was abducted at Soka area.

The two communities, Sanyo and Soka, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, are closer to each other.
The whereabouts of the three people kidnapped has not been ascertained.

The Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, only confirmed the abduction of the couple, while he confirmed the abduction of the couple, he said investigation had commenced into the matter. Fadeyi said: “A couple was abducted at Alabameji Village, Sanyo Area yesterday, March 29, 2021 at around 2:20pm in their farmland.

“The DPO and team immediately razed to the scene for on-the-spot assessment. Investigations have commenced and on the trail of the hoodlums to arrest them and equally released the abductee,” he concluded.
