There’s palpable fear in Rogo Local Government Area in Kano State due to incessant activities of kidnappers that raided two communities within a week.

SAHELIAN TIMES gathered that the kidnappers invaded Bari community in the early hours of Sunday and abducted a man identified as Mamuda Albdulqadir.

A source told our reporter that suspicious movements of unidentified people were noticed by the residents around 10 pm on Saturday.

“We reported our observations to  relevant authorities but no action was taken,” said the source while lamenting about lackadaisical attitude of security personnel.

The paper also learnt that the kidnappers later broke into a shop and whisked away mobile phones.

After completion the operation that lasted for almost two hours, the kidnapers shot sporadically in the air to scare the residents, before finally disappearing with their loots.

On 11th September 2021, just a week before the latest attack, armed kidnappers had also invaded another community called Dutsen Bari in the same local government and abducted a business man called Alhaji Shehu.

The abductors of Shehu have contacted his family and demanded a ransom of 15 million naira.

The spokesperson of Kano State Police Command at the time of writing this report did not respond to calls from our reporter.
